Amanda Overton
Director
Amanda is the Director of Children First Preschool, where she has had the privilege of serving for over 11 years as first a teacher and now an administrator. With a heart for both children and the Lord, Amanda has spent the last 4 years in leadership positions, guiding the preschool in its mission to provide a loving, Christ-centered environment where children can grow in both knowledge and faith. Amanda believes in the power of play-based learning and strong family partnerships. Amanda holds a TECTA for Administrators certificate and a Child Development Associate credential. Amanda is currently approaching the completion of her Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education. Her approach to education is rooted in Christian values, focusing on nurturing the whole child—mind, body, and spirit. At Children First Preschool, Amanda ensures that each child is treated with love, kindness, and respect, fostering an atmosphere where God's love is shared daily through the curriculum, relationships, and the example set by staff. As a wife and mother, Amanda understands the importance of family in a child’s development. She and her husband are blessed with a 16-year-old son and are excitedly awaiting the arrival of their new baby in March. In her free time, Amanda loves playing basketball, going to football games, spending time outdoors, trips to the beach, reading, etc., but above all, she cherishes time with her family. She is dedicated to ensuring that Children First Preschool remains a place where children not only grow academically but also spiritually, learning about God’s love and the importance of serving others.
