An Adult Respite Care Ministry of Hendersonville First United Methodist Church
An opportunity to make new friends is one of the best things about our respite care ministry at First United Methodist Church where we provide a caring community for adults with early to middle stages of dementia, Parkinson’s, stroke victims and more.
For Caregivers
While your loved one is enjoying their day at Friends First, you will have 4 hours of time for whatever you need to do, with peace of mind knowing they are cared for in a safe, fun and respectful environment. In addition, you will have an opportunity to participate in an ongoing caregiver’s support group led by Julie Vero, a retired licensed clinical social worker in our church.
This is a space to connect with others who understand your journey, share experiences, and find encouragement in a welcoming and understanding environment. Whether you come to listen or to share, you’ll find community, support, and a reminder that you’re not alone.
