At HFUMC, we believe in the power of compassionate support and the strength that comes from a caring community. Our mission is to walk alongside you, offering hope, comfort, and encouragement, grounded in the love of Christ. We are committed to serving with empathy, confidentiality, and respect, ensuring that you never have to face life's challenges alone.
HFUMC Cares:
Prayer Requests
Online prayer requests are shared with the Pastoral Team and, if desired, with the Email Prayer Newsletter. Would you like to be part of our prayer ministry? Sign up here to receive regular prayer requests and join us in lifting up others in prayer.
Pastoral Care
Stephen Ministry
Stephen Ministers are lay congregation members trained to provide one-to-one care to those experiencing a difficult time in life, such as grief, divorce, job loss, chronic or terminal illness, or relocation.
Love and Concern
More than 25 years ago, Gailya Charlton founded the Love and Concern mission group with a heartfelt purpose: to stay connected with church members now residing in nursing homes, assisted living, or independent living facilities throughout Sumner County.
Our dedicated caregivers meet monthly and make it a priority to visit, call, or send cards to each person on our list, ensuring they feel remembered, valued, and loved.
If you know a member of HFUMC that is in a facility within Sumner County who would appreciate a visit from us, please stop by the church office to submit their name and contact information. We would be honored to add them to our list.
Currently, our team has dwindled to just five caregivers, and we warmly invite you to consider joining this meaningful ministry. If you feel called to serve in this way, we meet on the third Monday of each month at 11:30 AM. For more information, please reach out to Randa Gooud, Director of Congregational Care—she would be happy to share more about our mission.
Together, we can continue spreading love, care, and faith to those who need it most.
