Annual United Methodist Picnic
Join us on Tuesday, June 5, in the Youth Lounge. This picnic will be our kick-off for the 100th birthday of UMW at HFUMC. There will be birthday cake! The short meeting will begin at 10:30, followed by a program, with lunch served immediately afterward--most likely between 11:00 and 11:30. Lunch is from Chicken Salad Chick, and the cost is $10.00. Please let Linda Gaines know if you plan to attend. Pre-payment for your lunch is appreciated. You may leave your payment in an envelope marked for the attention of Linda Gaines in the UMW mailbox in the church office, or mail to Linda Gaines.
This event will be Saturday, June 23, at White House UMC. Registration and continental breakfast is from 8:00 - 9:00 am. Lunch is potluck at 11:30, with drinks and desserts provided. Adjournment after lunch. Each and every Faith Lift is different. There will be fun, worship, and food with other UMW groups in the district. We will carpool from the church. Please let Carol Atkins know by June 15 if you plan to attend and if you want to carpool.
Mission U is scheduled July 12 and 13, at St. Mark's UMC in Murfreesboro, beginning at 9:00 am. Circle leaders should have registration forms in their e-mail in their district/conference newsletter. If you cannot obtain one, please contact Carol Atkins for an e-mail copy. Mission U offers usually three topics for study and you choose the one you prefer. You will then be prepared to teach the topic to groups in your church.
There are no scheduled Circle meetings in June.
Lydia Circle will meet at the church on Saturday, July 14, at 11:46, to carpool to lunch at Thistle Farms on Charlotte Avenue in Nashville. Thistle Farms is a program that provides food, shelter, treatment and job training to help women get their lives back on track. Anyone who wants to join us is invited to come along. Please let Dollena Hawkins, Lydia Chairperson, if you plan to go.
Please note of September Meeting date change. The meeting will be September 11, the second Tuesday in September at 10 am in Genesis Hall.
