Registration and Guidelines for
Year Round, Summer Session 2010, and
  School Schedule 2010-2011
 
DEFINITIONS OF  NEW TERMS:
  
Year Round - this designates children who were formerly known as "full time students".  Children are enrolled for a particular schedule on a year round basis.  Tuition is charged on a weekly basis. 
 
All infants and toddlers must enroll on a Year Round schedule. Vacancies are filled as they occur all during the year in these two classes.
 
This option is available also for children ages 2 years through 5 years.  Children ages 2-5 may have the option of reducing their schedule in the summer for a period of 8 consecutive weeks (2 days per week minimum is required)beginning June 1, and then must resume their customary schedule.
 
School Schedule - this designates children who were formerly known as "part time students".  This schedule is based on Sumner County school schedule and runs approximately for 36 weeks.  Tuition is charged on a monthly basis.
     
Summer Session - Runs for 6 weeks for children formerly known as "part time students".  A one time tuition fee is charged for the entire 6 week program, and is due in May before the summer session begins.
 
2010 Summer Session Dates:  June 14th through July 23rd
2010 School Schedule Begins:  Monday, August 16th
 
 
REGISTRATION FEES 
Summer Session: $35 per child
 (Maximum Family Fee $70 per Summer Session)
 
School Schedule: $35 per child
( Maximum Family Fee $70 per Summer Session)
 
Year Round Session:  $70 per child
                   
 Materials Fee: $30 is billed in September for all children enrolled at that time.

 REGISTRATION DATES FOR 2010
The Registration Forms and Registration Fees must be returned to secure your child/children's place in the Children First Program.  As the forms are returned they will be numbered and will include time and date.
  
 
Monday, February 22:  Registration starts for presently enrolled Year Round children(both HFUMC church members and non-members).  Forms will be given out to the Year Round children on Monday, February 22nd and must be returned by Friday, February 26th. 
 
Monday, March 1:    Registration starts for presently enrolled School Session children whose parents are HFUMC church members.  Forms will be sent home on March 1st and 2nd and can be received back in the office after 7 AM on Wednesday, March 3rd. 
 
Tuesday, March 9:   Registration starts for HFUMC members whose children are not enrolled in the Children First Program and are on the Waiting List.  The church members will be called about an opening for their child.  If they want that place for their child, it will be held for them until this registration.  Parents, or a representative, must come and complete paperwork to secure this place.  Registration will start at 5 pm and end at 7 pm. This Registration will be for whatever places are available.
 
Tuesday, March 16:  This Registration is for non-HFUMC members whose child/children are presently enrolled as School Schedule students at Children First.  Registration is for the Summer Session and School Schedule. Registration will start at 6:30 PM.
 
Monday, March 23:  This Registration is for non HFUMC members whose child/children are not enrolled in the Children First Program and are on the Waiting List.  The church members will be called about an opening for their child.  If they want that place for their child, it will be held for them until this registration.  Parents, or a representative, must come and complete paperwork to secure this place during the week of March 23. This Registration will be for whatever places are still available.
 
 
CHILDREN FIRST GUIDELINES FOR REGISTRATION
 
Waiting List:  When a parent calls the office to put his/her child on the waiting list, the director writes the child's information on a Waiting List Form.  This form is put into a Waiting List Book.  There are two Waiting List Books:  HFUMC  Members and Non-HFUMC Members. 
 
The Waiting List Book for Year Round and School Session children of HFUMC members is kept in order by the date the parent/parents put the child on the Waiting List, and then by the date they became members of Hendersonville First United Methodist Church.  Everytime a parent calls, e-mails, or comes by Children First, that information is written on the Waiting List Form or printed from e-mails.
 
The Waiting List Book for Year Round and School Session children of non-HFUMC members is kept in order by the date the child was put on the waiting list. 
 
Registration: Children First Registration will be held once a year beginning in February for the Summer Session that starts in June and School Schedule that starts in August. 
 
Before Registration, the Children First Advisory Board decides on the dates of registration, and the director will inform parents regarding registration via the HFUMC Newsletter, Children First Newsletter, the Children First Web Page, and Children First Information Flyers.
 
Tuition Fees must be current in order to register. 
Registration Forms will not be given out before the designated time of registration. 
 
 
 PRIORITY FOR REGISTRATION:
 
First - Year Round and School Session children of Children First Staff Members and Hendersonville First United Methodist Church Staff Members
Second - Year Round children  (HFUMC Members and non-HFUMC members) presently enrolled in Children First
Third - School Schedule and Summer Program children of HFUMC members presently enrolled in Children First
Fourth - Children of HFUMC members not enrolled in Children First.
Fifth - School Schedule children of non-HFUMC members presently enrolled in Children First
Sixth - Children who are not presently enrolled (this would include children on the Non Church Member Waiting List).
