Yoga For Adults and Children

Yoga Deepening-Therapeutics—All Levels

Tuesday and Thursday 9 - 10 am—CLC 250

New to yoga; experiencing back pain, arthritis, depression; carrying extra weight; feeling stressed; dealing with a muscle injury or tightness, balance issues; or looking to incorporate movement into your life. This class is for EVERY body! During each class, we explore the asana (poses) with intelligence, applying the principles of alignment, stability, and strength. The class content offers a balance of movement, structural awareness, deepening and opening that incorporates pranayama (breath), meditation, and restorative techniques. Each class includes principles of yoga therapy, utilizing a variety of props in order to give even the most physically challenged an opportunity to practice yoga while also challenging the intermediate and advanced yoga practitioner.  Join us to learn and practice new skills to take into your daily life and apply to the most stressful times on or off the yoga mat.
 

10 classes $50 with 11th Class Free

Mid Day Express —All Levels - Classes Begin October 19

Wednesdays 12:15-1pm—CLC 250

Are you looking for a way to spend your lunch hour that will energize and restore you for the rest of the day?  Join us for a 45-minute yoga practice that addresses areas where people often experience challenges—hips, knees, low back, shoulders and chest.  This class will utilize traditional yoga movement, breath techniques, meditation practices, and therapeutic interventions.  Come experience how yoga is different from stretching or working out aerobically.  We trust you will enjoy yoga's unique ability to connect the body, spirit, and mind inward without even breaking a sweat.

Healthy Kids – Yoga Movement—Grades K-5—All Levels

February 9, 16, 23, & March 1, 8 - 5:30-6:30pm - CLC 250

Children now more than ever need the grounding offered from a strong yoga practice.  Yoga offers a creative outlet to balance children’s overly structured often stressful routines.  Yoga evens the playing field for many children.  The yoga postures, or asanas, can be practiced by children of all ages and physical ability. Whether your child is physically strong or has a disability, sedentary or overly active, above or below healthy weight range, yoga offers something for every child.  The YOGA FOR ALL approach meets children where they are and offers something for everyone including children with special needs.  Differences are welcome, inclusion is encouraged.
